Nice little hotel and good price

My child stayed and ate breakfast free of charge

On arrival we had to keep walking through a wedding party as they was in a room off reception and that was our only access to our room. Little bit uncomfortable and chaos trying to get through loads of wedding guests

An ok place to stay

Hotel staff were great, food was great, location was fine

The bathroom in my room was grubby, in particular the shower controls and in the corners of the room. Plus the shower was cold on both mornings I was there.

Ok Hotel if they Improved Cleanliness

I liked the grounds, at least I could have a walk around withy dog. Food in restaurant and the breakfasts were great.

Cold shower, no hot water and bathroom needed deep clean, shower controls were black with grime and corners of bathroom had build up of dirt.

Hotel and staff are lovely. Very clean.

When paying over £100 per night I would expect more than 2 teabags and 4 milk. I would have asked for some more but was the morning and leaving so didn't bother but you should be able to have at least 2 cups of tea each.

Good stay - had everything that was required. fresh/clean sheets are essential

Dinner and breakfast were very good and the staff were excellent

Room was a bit tired could do with painting and new carpets. There were stains on the bedding

Really comfortable

It was quite a cheap stay at £45 for the night and I was aware it was an older property with just 3 stars so I didn't have high hopes. I was greeted by a really friendly person who was lovely and warm, went up to my room to find it was really clean, nicely decorated, bathroom was basic but immaculately clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities and water. Later when I asked for more bottled water it was provided free of charge.

The only issue was some other guests came to bed at around 2.30am and were laughing and being rowdy outside my room. I ended up shouting at them from my room to shut up because they were still messing about at gone 3am. The other thing was there were no USB sockets for charging and I hadn't brought a plug. I would stay again though.

Everything about the hotel, clean, comfortable, friendly staff and a good breakfast.

Booking.com did not notify the hotel that we had paid for our stay via the website and they thought we still had to pay.

Overall it was a lovely warm, welcoming stay 10/10

On arrival we were greeted with a lovely man and lady on reception, a warm welcoming arrival above and beyond a lot of hotels... the room was a bit dated but spotlessly clean, cosy bed but would prefer king size ( personal taste ) the sheets and towels were clean the towels thick compared to some places, the room was hot which is great for cold days and nights, we switched the heater off on arrival but the room stayed really warm. Iron and board in wardrobe, enough coat hangers. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Full length mirror a must for ladies. could not find anything to complain about, just praise. We loved the cosy welcoming bar full of settees a huge TV a lovely warm fire, we could have just chilled the night away in the bar..\the only downside to it is the fact that dogs are welcome, it is great on one hand but on the other people with asthma and severe allergies could be badly affected. Overall a lovely warm welcoming place we will definitely be returning and will recommend to others.

The dated furniture and the fact dogs are welcome other than guide dogs

Before we arrived we asked for a room in the quiet end of...

Before we arrived we asked for a room in the quiet end of the hotel on the 2nd floor. The staff gave us this room until we got to the room and next door was playing tv so loud it could be heard they turned it off at 12.30 then back on at 6.30 walls thin to hear people in other rooms when walking on the corridors.

We came for a wedding! with the wedding being next door at the stables besides the very poor road surface and no lighting between the 2 properties. The breakfast was very poor for the cost of it even the made to order breakfast was poor. Feel overall the hotel is very dated and needs an overall of room improvement including shower facilities

Never stay in this place again unless it was totally refurbished

Everything It is extremely tired and in need of a good deep clean I think the negative decor reflects the happiness of the staff who on the whole were happy polite but not attentive

The facilities ie the sauna, steam room and swimming baths were excellent and clean however in another building

The land line in the room did not work and was not rectified when we told the staff on arrival therefore had to ure mobile phone to contact reception. Also no heating in the bathroom and sink made a very loud noise after every use. Had to keep asking for refreshments for room, not added to amount of people staying.

I love The Stables gym!! 2 lovely pools and a couple of Jacuzzi areas, plus the cold PLUNGE pool!! And sauna steam room. Love the privacy in the gym of the separate 'stable' areas and original features . Evening meal was very nice too. Nearby, Bury market is brilliant too.

It's not entirely clear from the description, but as a...

It's not entirely clear from the description, but as a guest of the hotel you CAN use the facilities of the country club - pool, sauna, gym - for free during your stay. These were excellent and made the trip for us.

There was nothing really especially wrong with it. The description says acres of grounds, but there's really not much to walk around. It is nice to have some green surroundings though. The first room they offered us smelled of smoke (hardly their fault as there are signs and smoke alarms everywhere) but they promptly gave us a different one.
